Building Bridges: Black Alumni Association empowers students, Volume 57, Issue 5.
In search of a compelling story for Black History Month, I reached out to the Black Alumni Association. I had the privilege of interviewing the founder, a board member, and the founder's sibling, who is currently a student at North. Through these conversations, I aimed to highlight the lasting impact of alumni groups and emphasize how Black History Month can be celebrated every day, not just in February.
Admin seeks to uphold student culture, Volume 57, Issue 1.
After the resignation of the 2023-24 administration, I recognized the importance of covering the arrival of the new team, especially as a member of the executive board. This story was crucial for our school, addressing the concerns of both students and staff about the potential changes. I ensured all administrators were highlighted, alongside my multimedia elements, including a video with Mr. Johnson and an interactive graphic.

Unveiling the shadows: True crime popularity raises ethical concerns, Volume 56, Issue 5
After hearing all the buzz surrounding true crime TV shows, I decided to explore the realities behind them from the perspectives of psychology and criminal law. Securing two expert sources was essential for this story, and I was pleased with how it all came together in the end.

Noticing a growing number of foreign exchange students at my school, I wanted to spotlight something unique about their experiences. With the holiday season approaching, I focused on highlighting diverse holiday traditions and cultural celebrations, incorporating personal quotes to add authenticity.

Searching for knowledge: Students seek alternate classes, Volume 56, Issue 1
After learning about numerous course cuts, including my inability to take French 5, I felt compelled to investigate how these budget cuts were significantly impacting my school. The piece effectively highlights the personal consequences of these changes while also uncovering deeper, systemic issues in education funding. I plan to continue exploring the intersection of education and society, using this piece as a foundation for future stories on the systemic challenges facing education at my school.

Introducing the Dean of Student Culture and Community, Kevin Shubnell, Volume 55, Issue 2
When I heard about a new position in the building, one designed with students in mind, I saw an opportunity to cover students' first impressions of the new Dean of Culture and Community. I knew it was a timely topic, especially with new policies being introduced at my school.
