Since my sophomore year, I’ve been drawn to journalism, particularly writing and reporting news stories. What I’ve come to love most about writing is uncovering the human element within even the most data-driven stories. In writing news stories, I’ve learned the importance of finding a personal moment that humanizes the narrative. I’ve also gained experience in maintaining objectivity, even in stories that hit close to home. Each story has been an opportunity to take risks while building on past feedback, allowing me to improve significantly since my sophomore year.
